Native American Veteran Assistance (NAVA) is non-profit organization serving the veterans of Native American Communities across America. We are the community we serve, we are Veterans, we are Native Americans. As members of the tribes we help provide assistance for our fellow veterans, no matter which branch of the military they served in. We know first hand the struggles of not only the Native American communities but also the great warriors coming home from service to the greatest nation on the planet.

Coming home to see these Warriors broken and battered is heart-breaking. So many of our vets are facing grave economic crisis and substandard living conditions. We had to do something about it. That’s why Native Vets (NAVA) was born.

Our founder is Major Clay Ramsey, and our board of directors include Charlotte Moore, Brandy Maxcy, Melvin Whitebird, and Will Burritt.

Our Team

Clay Ramsey

Founder/CEO | Oglala Sioux Tribal Member and Major USMCR

I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps 35 years ago. The Marines helped me to go to college to be an officer in the Marines. I started out as a private in the infantry and ended my career as a reserve Major. I was fortunate. However, many others have not been so fortunate. That is why we have decided to do every thing we can to help these honorable Native American Warriors with a hand-up. I have worked with hundreds of programs on dozens of reservations helping people. We know what we are doing as a trusted partner in Indian Country.
