How Will My Planned Gift Make an Impact?
Because of your generous planned gift, Native American veterans – some of them living in poverty can contribute to their communities. Your enduring legacy will ensure these veterans and their families receive the immediate help they need with food and clothing, while NAVA works on long term solutions to help Veterans.
What Language Should I Include in My Will?
Once you’ve decided to make a bequest NAVA, the following language and legal address may be helpful to your attorney:
“I give, devise and bequeath to Native American Veterans Assistance, a corporation created under the laws of the State of South Dakota, located at 1010 Ennen Drive, in Rapid City, South Dakota, A. __% of my estate. [OR] B. the sum of $___. [OR] C. & of all the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate.”

What if I Have Already Written My Will or Trust?
You can amend a will or trust to make a gift without rewriting the entire document. Your attorney can prepare a simple document, called a codicil, which adds a new gift to NAVA while reaffirming the other terms of your will or trust.
There are many different types of trusts that can serve a variety of purposes. The advice of an attorney and qualified financial planner is necessary to assess your situation and decide which trust is right for you.
